Non-Refundable, Non-Transferable Deposit
There is a $200 deposit, per person, needed to book any trek or overnight, short tour with Inti Sun Trek. For all full itineraries which include hotels (5 days or more), the needed deposit is $400 per person. The deposit can be made through PayPal / VISA online, which will incur a 6% PayPal / VISA merchant fee paid by the traveler. All deposits are fully non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event that you need to cancel your trip, cancellation fees will be assessed as outlined below under our cancellation policy. If canceling, you may not transfer your deposit to another person’s trek.
Final Payment Terms
The remaining balance will be due in our office in Cusco at least 2 days before your tour start date. However, it can also be paid in advance through PayPal / VISA online, which will incur a 6% PayPal / VISA merchant fee paid by the traveler. In our office we accept both U.S. and Peruvian currency of any denomination. We do not accept any torn bills. If you are not arriving to Cusco 2 days before your tour begins, please arrange your payment with the Inti Sun team before your arrival.
Cancellation Policy for Treks and Small Tours
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to info@intisuntrek.com. If you wish to cancel within eight weeks of your tour start date, further payment is needed as follows:
In the event you cancel your trip
If you cancel between 30 and 10 days before your trek, you must pay 50% of the total cost.
If you cancel between 10 and 3 days before your trek, you must pay 80% of the total cost.
If you cancel one day before your trek, you must pay 100% of the total cost.
We charge these fees because there are a great deal of expenses that Inti Sun pays to set up these tours. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions. We would be happy to supply a letter for your insurance company to help recover some of the cost.
In the exceptional case that you decide to head back once you have started the trail, we cannot reimburse any of your final payments. Unfortunately you will be responsible for all the extra expenses that occur during your transportation to the nearest town or Cusco for example food and transportation. If you want, you may join the group in Machupicchu for the walking tour and use all of the services onward. If so, we can help you buy a new train ticket to Aguas Calientes and bus ticket to Machu Pîcchu
Strikes in Peru: A popular way for the people in Peru to communicate unhappiness with the government is to strike. This area sees quite a few strikes a year that can sometimes affect the logistics involved in our tours. Most strikes are well organized and planned in advance so the office will have at least a few hours to make arrangements if needed.
Changes for logistics: Often this involves leaving for your trek the night before. Please understand we will do everything we can to get you to and from the trail and will give you the information you need as soon as we have it. We will always get you to and from the trail very safely.
